| One of the major things i learnt was brown is your friend when painting gold as gold isnt a one coat color for full coverage and a base coat of XV-88 helps immensely, granted you don't want to do all the line work twice on every model but on a bright color like purple it's best to do it especially if its a HQ unit, on darker colors like the Khorne red you can get away with a single coat of gold. For aged parchment its very easy to get a nice realistic effect, base coat ceramite white, wash with seraphim sepia then dry brush with tyrant skull and there you have proper aged parchment. |
